Announcing the Someren Glen Renaissance

We are thrilled to share that Someren Glen is in the final stages of a Renaissance – including new assisted living apartment redesigns and a full renovation of our dining room, living room, community room, and more.

Someren Glen residents embrace the community motto of pursuing “The Fine Art of Living,” in whichever form that may take for each individual. For some, that may mean tending to the community herb and vegetable gardens, for others, meeting regularly to talk over tea and knitting needles or turning a handmade bowl or vase in the wood shop.

Planning for the Renaissance refresh began in 2021 following the renovations of our independent living apartments. We have been consulting with Senior Housing Partners and working with Frontline Construction and Aneka Interiors to redesign our beautiful community.

Aneka Interiors designed calming and inviting spaces with natural color palettes and accents. Each step of the way, the teams at Aneka Interiors, Someren Glen, and Christian Living Communities have consulted with residents on finishes and designs, the comfort and functionality of seating and furniture options, and how they wish to use shared community spaces.

New Assisted Living Apartment Uplift

Only a handful of our new assisted living apartment renovations are left to be completed. Three apartments at a time have undergone a complete refresh that includes contemporary yet classic finishes throughout. Residents are enjoying new cabinetry, countertops, flooring, and lighting, backsplashes in the kitchen and bath, and fresh paint on the walls, doors, and trim. The neutral color palette creates a clean canvas for residents to personalize with their own unique and meaningful décor.

We expect that all new assisted living apartments will be completed by March of 2024.

Independent & Assisted Living Shared Spaces Renovations

Since the start of 2023, nearly every inch of Someren Glen’s Independent and Assisted Living building has been updated with fresh finishes, layouts, and features to enhance community life. From hallways and restrooms to the fitness room, dining room and library. Just a few areas are left to complete, with the entire project expected to wrap up by May of 2024.

Among the renovations that residents have been most excited about are the living, dining room, and an updated community room.

Foyer, Living Room, and Gathering Areas

We can hardly believe the transformation of our living room and gathering areas. The heart of our community, these spaces have been renovated to incorporate warm, natural details with rich textures, ambient lighting, and artwork that has heartfelt meaning to Someren Glen residents.

Above the two-story, double-sided fireplace is a stunning woven tapestry that honors Someren Glen’s long-standing resident knitting group.

Additionally, the welcoming sitting areas are furnished with specifically chosen items to offer ample space for residents, families, team members, and visitors to enjoy great conversation and lively events.

Dining Room, Featuring a New Grab ‘n’ Go Dining Area & Lounge

The dining room has been redesigned with a striking room divider that creates smaller, more intimate dining spaces that minimize sound from background conversations.

Our new Grab ‘n’ Go dining area and lounge offer residents and visitors the flexibility of a convenient, healthy dining option and casual seating when they don’t have time for a sit-down meal in the dining room.

Someren Glen’s Independent and Assisted Living building will soon enjoy a refreshed multi-purpose community room that will better accommodate residents and team members! We are looking forward to gathering together in the community to socialize, celebrate, and discuss topics of importance with those who live and work here.

We are thrilled for this renaissance at Someren Glen to be unveiled. With both aesthetic and functional updates, residents will be able to fully embrace the fine art of living in a beautiful environment that fosters connection and community.
